Duration

6 Weeks–6 Months

This project focused on improving the organic search performance of an e-commerce website that was struggling to rank for relevant product and category terms. The site had a wide product catalog but lacked the on-page and technical foundation needed to compete for commercial search queries. The objective was to strengthen keyword targeting, optimize product and category pages, and build a more search-friendly site structure to support long-term organic growth. Work was carried out over a sustained period to allow keyword research, on-page changes, and internal linking improvements to be implemented and reviewed systematically across the catalog.

Project execution

Work began with keyword research built around product categories, search intent, and commercial relevance, distinguishing between informational queries and transactional, purchase-ready searches. Priority keywords were mapped to the most relevant product and category pages, followed by on-page optimization of titles, meta descriptions, headings, and body content. Category pages were optimized around broader commercial terms, while product pages were refined to better match the language shoppers actually use when searching. Alongside this, the site’s internal linking structure was reviewed and strengthened to connect categories, products, and supporting content more effectively.

Project results

The campaign led to better-targeted keyword mapping across the product catalog, with product and category pages now structured around terms that reflect actual shopper search behavior. Internal linking was noticeably strengthened, improving how search engines and users navigate between related products and categories, which contributed to a stronger overall SEO structure for the site.

Beyond the technical and on-page improvements, the project established a repeatable approach for identifying commercially valuable pages and optimizing them for organic search. This gives the site a clearer foundation for sustained organic growth, with an emphasis on pages that carry genuine purchase intent rather than broad, low-value traffic.
